New hotel group formed

At a cost of $57 million, an organization calling itself Grupo Holtelero Santa Fe has acquired NH managed hotels in Ixtapa, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta as well as three Hilton-branded properties in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Ciudad Juárez. No name changes are planned for the Hiltons, one of which is a Garden Inn. The three flying the NH flag will get back their old name: Krystal. NH is a Spanish hotel management firm run by a Mexican, Francisco Zinser. NH has announced it plans to concentrate on the business travel market. In all, the Santa Fe Group is starting out with 1,832 rooms. It takes its name from the new posh business-class neighborhood in western Mexico City.
