Volaris setting airline records

Volaris, the low-fare airline, which next month celebrates its sixth birthday, expects to sell a billion dollars’ worth of tickets this year as passenger volume increases to 9 million,  a projected 22 percent increase over 2011. Having moved its operations base from Toluca (near Mexico City) to Cancun, Volaris rivals Interjet as the second-largest airline in Mexico now that Mexicana no longer is flying. Biggest, of course, is Aeroméxico.
