Newest tourist attraction in the Cancun area may turn into an ecological disaster. Too many boats are taking too many people out to see whale sharks that congregate about a two-hour boat ride from Cancun or Isla Mujeres starting in December. The migrating monsters were discovered in the area only about three years ago and it seems everybody wants to see them. Since it is all so new, traffic is largely unregulated, but that may change.
