Aeroméxico last week inaugurated twice-daily service between Las Vegas and Mexico City and Las Vegas-Monterrey using Boeing 737s. Smaller Embrear 145s are used on twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) service between Hermosillo and Las Vegas.
Casino gambling as such remains illegal in Mexico, but several large corporations operate bingo halls and betting parlors that include electronic versions of roulette, blackjack and other games of chance. Efforts have been underway for more than a decade to legalize gambling completely.
