Iron Gate B&B

My wife and I spent the night at the Iron Gate B&B, a warm, charming B&B in Cedar City, Utah. We arrived late afternoon and were greeted by a summer thunder storm. We later sat on the wrap-around porch with a glass of brandy and took in the small-town atmosphere.
This place is clean, comfortable, loaded with ambience and the serenity of a bygone era. If you are visiting Zion or Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks National Monument or Brian Head in the winter, this would not be a bad place to hang out for a couple of days or more.
Iron Gate is centrally located in the heart of Southern Utah's breathtaking red rock country between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Cedar City is only 2-1/2 hours from Las Vegas.
It has been renovated with its 21st century guests in mind without losing its 1897 charm. Our room had a king-sized bed, bath and a door leading out to the porch.
The inn has 10 rooms ranging in price from $109 to $239 for the Carriage House suite. We’re staying in a king room, the Lucy Belle on the main floor ($139 a night).
The innkeepers are Susan and CR Wooten, who have been running this excellent B&B for 10 years. Iron Gate is at 100 N. 200 West St., Cedar City. For reservations, call (435) 867-0603 or (800) 808-4599 or e-mail info@theirongateinn.com.
