Miguel Torruco had resigned from the leadership of the Mexico Tourism Confederation — a private sector group — now that presidential candidate Andres Manuel López-Obrero has indicated Torruco is his choice for next minister of tourism. The left-leaning López-Obrero lost his presidential bid in 2006 by less than 1 percent of the vote, but is popularity has been slipping.
