An updated U.S. government travel warning urges American citizens to avoid various areas in half the states in Mexico. Not included are Quintana Roo (Cancun and its neighboring Riviera Maya, etc.) Puerto Vallarta and its neighbor, Riviera Nayarit and much more, although Veracruz has been added to the list. While noting all this, MSNBC quoted Mexican officials who are predicting for 2012 a 10 percent growth in travel from the United States. Last year, arrivals from the USA fell by 3 percent, but this was blamed on economic conditions, which seem, to be improving.
